We’re finally off on the adventure of a lifetime! Our family of six is embarking on a journey around Australia, and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ll be updating our progress regularly here on our blog, as well as on social media, so stay tuned for daily updates and pictures of our incredible journey.
Today, we began our journey by leaving Port Fairy and making our way through Hamilton, Penola and Naracoorte before stopping in Keith to let the kids stretch their legs and have lunch. The Don Moseley park is perfect place to let the kids play at the playground and enjoy the beautiful weather. They love the old train ride there and the local IGA is a hop skip and a jump away.
As we continued on our journey, we made a stop in the charming town of Burra. We decided to spend the night behind the local pub, surrounded by the stunning Australian scrub. It was here that we met some fellow travellers who were making their way from Perth to Mildura. It was great to hear about their experiences and exchange travel tips.
The next morning, I took a walk to explore the old railway bridge that runs through town. It was an incredible sight and a great way to start the day before setting off on our next big drive.
The main purpose of this adventure is to explore our beautiful country and to learn as much as we can along the way. With this in mind, we’ve created a daily car quiz for our four children to participate in. We want to give them a chance to learn far more than what is taught in the traditional curriculum. As we set off for our next big drive, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to explore our beautiful country and learn new things.
Today’s lesson of the day: Did you know that a collective noun for hyenas is called a cackle? It’s just one of the many fun and interesting facts we’ll be sharing with our children as we explore this amazing country. Stay tuned for more updates and stories from our journey around Australia!
This adventure is about more than just seeing the sights, it’s about experiencing the culture, the people, and the history of Australia. Each day is filled with new discoveries and exciting moments. We can’t wait to see what the next leg of our journey holds in store for us. Join us on our journey and discover the beauty of Australia with us!
