Pt Lincoln NYE

After a disappointing first attempt at catching squid, we woke up early the next day determined to succeed. Frank, our experienced fisherman, led the charge to the jetty and the kids excitedly followed along. Despite the high winds, we were determined to make it happen. Unfortunately, the wind was still too strong and we came home empty-handed, but the experience was still enjoyable.

It was New Year’s Eve and we decided to head into Pt Lincoln to enjoy the festivities and fireworks. The kids had a blast at the jumping castle and playground on the foreshore. We sat down for dinner together as a family, and enjoyed each other’s company as we looked forward to the new year ahead. On the foreshore were these huge signs that spelled out “Hope” and “Joy.” This really summed up nicely thoughts for the new year and reflections on the year just gone. Hope and Joy are values our family holds deeply.

We didn’t quite make it to midnight, but we went to sleep very thankful and full, grateful for the experiences of the past year and for the opportunities that the new year will bring. As we continue on our journey, we’re looking forward to all the new experiences, sights and people that we will meet. Happy new year!
