Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 November 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and JG Collective Co Pty Ltd (ACN 703 036 640) as trustee for the JJJH Griffith Trust (ABN 37 676 051 604), trading as Road Schooling ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy at roadschooling.com.au/privacy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. We've tried to write these in plain English. If anything is unclear, contact us.

2. Who can use Road Schooling

Road Schooling is for parents and guardians who are educating their children, including while travelling.

• You must be 18 or older to create an account and accept these terms.

• If you add a child as a learner, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian, or have their parent's or guardian's permission.

• Children can use the app only with you, on your account. You are responsible for supervising them and for how the app is used on your account.

• The app supports the Australian Curriculum (v9). It also includes the National Curriculum in England and a set of US standards. Choosing a curriculum doesn't mean Road Schooling is approved by any education authority.

3. Your account

• Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep them up to date.

• Keep your password private. You're responsible for activity on your account unless it happened because of our failure.

• Tell us straight away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

• One account is for one family. Please don't share it with other families or resell access.

• We may ask you to verify your email address before using some features.

4. Free trial, subscriptions and payments

Free trial. New accounts start on a free trial with a limited allowance: up to 10 generated activities and assessments per learner, and 5 Plan Your Next Stop searches per account. The trial has no time limit and costs nothing. It ends when you've used the allowance or when you subscribe.

Subscriptions. Paid plans differ by the number of learner profiles, from one to four. The current price is shown in the app and the app store before you buy. Prices include GST where it applies.

Fair-use allowances. Each paid plan includes up to 100 generated activities and assessments per learner per month, and 20 Plan Your Next Stop searches per account per month. These reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC). Unused allowance doesn't carry over. They exist to keep the service affordable and to prevent automated misuse.

Buying through Apple or Google. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and payment is handled by them under their terms. We don't see or store your card details.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Apple or Google charges your payment method on renewal.

Cancelling. You can cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app, or deleting your Road Schooling account, does not cancel a store subscription, so please cancel in the store first. After you cancel, you keep paid access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Refunds. Refund requests for store purchases go to Apple or Google, under their refund policies. If you have trouble, contact us at support@roadschooling.com.au and we'll help. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 12). If the app has a major failure, you may be entitled to a refund.

Price changes. We may change prices for future billing periods. We'll give you reasonable notice (at least 30 days) through the app or the app store, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.

Changing plans. You can move between plans in your store subscription settings. If you move to a plan with fewer learner profiles, you'll be asked which profiles to keep active.

5. AI-generated content

Road Schooling uses artificial intelligence (provided by Anthropic) to create activities, feedback on your child's work, and suggestions for places to visit. Please read this section carefully.

• It's a planning aid, not a teacher. The app helps you plan and record learning. It doesn't replace your own judgement as your child's educator, a qualified teacher, or any requirement set by your education authority.

• AI can make mistakes. Activities, examples and feedback may sometimes contain errors, including wrong facts about a place, maths or spelling mistakes, or a task pitched at the wrong level. Check content before giving it to your child, and adjust it as you see fit.

• Curriculum links are a guide. We match activities to curriculum descriptions held in our app. They may not reflect the latest official version, and the app doesn't certify that your child has met any outcome. Australian assessment feedback refers to official ACARA achievement standards.

• Registration and reporting are your responsibility. If your state or territory requires home-education registration, plans or reports, you're responsible for meeting those requirements. Our progress reports may help, but we don't guarantee any authority will accept them.

• Assessments are informal. Photo-based feedback describes strengths and areas to work on. It isn't a grade, a diagnosis or a formal assessment, and it isn't a substitute for professional advice about learning difficulties or development.

• Plan Your Next Stop suggestions come from the AI's general knowledge, not a live search. Places may have closed, changed, or need bookings, fees or permits. Always check details (opening hours, access, safety, cultural protocols) with the venue or an official source before you go.

• Content about people and cultures. Where activities touch on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, or any culture, please treat the content as a starting point and check it against local and community sources.

6. Safety and activities

• Don't rely on the app for safety. Nothing in the app is safety, medical, legal or navigation advice. Many activities involve going outside, visiting places, handling natural objects, cooking, building or experimenting.

• You decide what's safe. You're responsible for supervising your child and deciding whether an activity suits their age, ability, health and surroundings. Skip or change anything that doesn't feel safe.

• Follow local rules. Respect signage, closures, private property, national park and marine park rules, fishing and collecting limits, and any cultural or sacred-site protocols. Don't take natural or cultural items where it isn't allowed.

• Weather, water and wildlife. Take care around water, cliffs, roads, heat, wildlife and remote areas. Check conditions and warnings before going out.

• Activities can be done afterwards. Our activities are designed so your child can finish them after leaving a place, using memory, photos and research. You never need to stay somewhere or return to it to complete one.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for injury, loss or damage that results from how an activity is carried out, as that is under your control. This doesn't limit your rights under section 12.

7. Your content

"Your content" means what you enter or upload: learner names and year levels, places, descriptions of what your family has done, requests, and photos of your child's work.

• You own your content. You give us permission to use it only to run the app for you: to store it, to send the relevant parts to our service providers (including our AI provider) to generate activities and feedback, and to show it back to you. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep something by law.

• Photos of work. Photos uploaded for assessment are processed to produce feedback and are not stored by Road Schooling. Only the written feedback is kept, and only if you save it.

• Keep it about the work. Please photograph your child's work, not your child. Don't include faces, full names, addresses, school details or other personal information in photos or text boxes.

• Generated content is yours to use. You may use, print and share activities and reports generated for your family for your own non-commercial educational purposes.

• You have the right to share it. Only upload content you have the right to use.

8. Acceptable use

Please don't:

1. Use the app for anything unlawful, harmful, or that puts a child at risk.

2. Upload content that is offensive, sexual, violent, or that shows or identifies a child in a way that isn't about their schoolwork.

3. Try to get around usage allowances, for example by creating extra accounts or learner profiles, or editing data directly.

4. Access, scrape, copy or automate the app or its curriculum data, or use it to build a competing product or train AI models.

5. Reverse engineer, interfere with, overload or try to break the app's security, or access another person's account or data.

6. Resell, sublicense or commercially distribute the app or its generated content (for example, selling activities as worksheets) without our written permission.

7. Try to make the AI produce content that is harmful, misleading or unrelated to education.

If you break these rules we may limit, suspend or close your account (see section 13).

9. Our content

The app, its design, the Road Schooling name and logo, our prompts, our curriculum database and its organisation, and our original text and graphics belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your family's education while you follow these terms.

Curriculum descriptions and standards are based on public sources including the Australian Curriculum (ACARA), the National Curriculum in England (Department for Education) and US standards frameworks. These remain the property of their owners, are used under their licence terms, and are not endorsed by them.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the app without paying you, but we won't publish your name or personal details without your permission.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy at roadschooling.com.au/privacy explains what we collect, including information about your children that you enter, why we collect it, where it is processed (including overseas, in the United States), who our service providers are, and how to access or delete it. It forms part of these terms.

In short: we don't sell your data, we don't send names or contact details to our AI provider, and we don't use your family's content for advertising.

11. Availability and changes to the app

• The app needs an internet connection to generate content, which can be patchy while travelling. We aim to keep it running, but it may sometimes be slow or unavailable, including during maintenance or when our providers have outages.

• We regularly improve the app and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature that's a significant part of what you pay for, we'll tell you in advance, and you can cancel.

• Keep the app updated. Older versions may stop working.

12. Your consumer rights and our liability

Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If a failure doesn't amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy that the law says can't be excluded.

Limits, where the law allows. Subject to the above:

• the app is provided for family educational planning, and we aren't liable for loss of profits, business or opportunity;

• we aren't liable for loss that is caused by things outside our reasonable control, by your breach of these terms, or by how you or your child carry out an activity; and

• where our liability for failing to meet a consumer guarantee can lawfully be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

13. Ending your account

You can stop at any time. Delete your account in the app under Settings > Delete Account, or by emailing support@roadschooling.com.au from your account email address. Remember to cancel any store subscription first (section 4).

What happens when you delete. Your account, learner profiles, saved activities and progress records are permanently deleted from our database. Download any progress report you want to keep first. Copies in backups may remain for a short time before being overwritten. We may keep limited records where the law requires.

When we may suspend or close an account. We may suspend or close an account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if we need to for legal reasons, or to protect children, other users or the app. Unless it's urgent or unlawful to do so, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it. If we close a paid account without a good reason under these terms, we'll refund the unused part of your subscription.

If we stop offering Road Schooling, we'll give at least 30 days' notice where possible, time to download reports, and a refund of any prepaid period we can't provide.

15. Changes, disputes and general

Changes to these terms. We may update these terms to reflect changes to the app, the law or our business. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account before then. Continuing to use the app after that date means you accept the new terms.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, Australia.

Sorting out problems. Please contact us first at support@roadschooling.com.au. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and try to resolve it within 30 days. If we can't, you can contact Consumer Protection WA (Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety) or take other action available to you.

General. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them to another entity that takes over Road Schooling, and we'll tell you if we do; your rights won't be reduced.

16. App store terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, these extra terms apply. If they conflict with the rest of these terms, this section wins for that store.

Apple App Store

1. These terms are between you and Road Schooling only, not Apple. Road Schooling, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.

2. Your licence is non-transferable and lets you use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, including through Family Sharing.

3. Road Schooling, not Apple, is responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.

4. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app (if any). To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses or costs from a failure to conform to a warranty are Road Schooling's responsibility.

5. Road Schooling, not Apple, is responsible for any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.

6. If a third party claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Road Schooling, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.

7. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

8. Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to Road Schooling at the contact details in section 14.

9. You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data plan.

10. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.

Google Play

Your use of the app is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Google isn't responsible for the app or its content. Subscriptions bought through Google Play are billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded under Google Play's policies.
